Don’t pass up this gem!

“Ferncrest” is a real treasure. Bruce has added some beautiful touches that make this place feel like home. The reading nook is cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is set up for storing groceries and preparing food, which comes in handy since it’s on the less busy part of the island. If you’re up early, you can catch stunning sunrises from the kitchen window. And it’s a short drive from Seal Cove, where you can catch fantastic sunsets if the weather cooperates. It’s a quick and beautiful drive to the busier parts of the island and Acadia. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Don’t pass up this gem! – Danielle @ AirBnB

Ideal for exploring Acadia.

Bruce’s place is absolutely ideal for exploring Acadia and the island. We had such a wonderful stay. The place is exactly as it appears, comfy and very clean. It is on the quieter side of the island which we really appreciated as a way to relax but still be in close proximity to everything. Bruce was a excellent host. He was very good with providing directions for driving in sand checking in as well as providing all of the maps/books and recommendations we could want for hikes and activities. Highly recommend a visit! – Melanie @ AirBnB

Comfortable place.

Bruce was very communicative before, during, and after my stay with friends. The space was as described and a comfortable place for us to explore Acadia. – Elizabeth @ AirBnB

Charming and great location.

The host Bruce was great and gave good recommendations. Great location for Acadia national park. — Jacqueline T. @ HomeAway

We recommend a stay!

Frencrest is a lovely and serene place to enjoy all on its own or as a jumping off point to explore Acadia NP. Bruce is friendly and respectful. – Kathi @ AirBnB

It was easy to feel at home at Ferncrest.

Ferncrest was exactly as advertised. It’s extremely quiet, beautiful scenery and a short walk to the National park. The decor of the home is perfect. There is an extensive library to use as well as games and cards. Bruce is a wonderful host, easy to speak with and has a vast wealth of knowledge of all things Maine. We hope to come back in another season to be able shut our phones off and connect again with our surroundings. Great hikes, great views, great home, happy guests! – Randi-Brynn @ AirBnB

The perfect quiet house.

This trip was meant to be a graduation celebration for my son Cody. But finding your listing and your hospitality has been so much more. So many beautiful places to see in our national park system, and so little time. You could create a lifetime exploring and getting to know anyone of them. To have been able to draw on your experiences in Acadia has been simply amazing! Even with a knee awaiting surgery you steered us to sites that awe inspiring. Beech Mountain was everything you described and more. Ship Harbor, beautiful. And each destination within the park so different. Thank you! I will be back. — Tom C.

I had such an amazing time this week staying in your home. This house was everything my dad and I hoped for, the perfect quiet house in the hills of Maine. We got to do so many great hikes in the park including Beehive, Beach Mountain, and Ship Harbor to name a few. All of which had fantastic views. It will be hard to leave Acadia and return to the hussle of New Jersey. I know we will miss the park immensely. Thank you so much for the great hospitality. I hope we are able to make it back again sometime. — Cody C.

A stunning place to lodge.

The property is pristine and beautiful. The view in this picture is correct. The apartment is clean and nicely decorated. We had everything we needed supplied for. Bruce J. was hospitable, courteous, informative, and all around a nice guy to talk with. He made our trip a success from the places in the park to see to the enjoyable conversations. There are 4 or 5 harbors to drive to for food. We had lobster at Thurston’s in Northeast Harbor, Sunday brunch at Cafe This Way in Bar Harbor. We drove the national park loop to enjoy many different places, biked the carriage trails which were outstandingly beautiful, hiked up a mountain with a park ranger’s interpretation to boot, and strolled through two lovely gardens not to be missed. Overall our visit was well worth it; we are not disappointed at all with our lodging; in fact we hope to come back some day and enjoy the park more and staying at Ferncrest (#141438) would be our desire in order to get the most from the trip. — Scott W. @ HomeAway

Overall great experience

Great stay in a nice upstairs apartment on the quiet side of the island right on the edge of the park. Bruce was a nice host and answered any questions we had. Our 2 year old was happy with the toy box full of antique type toys (toys are always better at other people’s houses!). The kitchen was great for us to be able to cook a lot of meals to avoid eating out too often. Overall great experience and we would recommend! — Amanda P. @ AirBnB
